Identifying Survey location

Reasons for choosing sample size from my high school.

By selecting my high school as the sample population, I thought I can create a focused and relevant survey that addresses cancer awareness in a context that is both familiar and significant to me and my peers.

Choosing a sample size from your high school for a cancer awareness survey is motivated by several reasons. In this section I have detailed out the reasons so that I can be more objective and clear as to why I chose my high school to conduct the survey. This might be beneficial to my peers and juniors who might want to conduct survey related to their topics to interest.

Relevance

My high school population is directly relevant to the survey’s aim. Understanding cancer awareness among my peers I thought would provide insights into knowledge gaps or misconceptions that are specific to my age group.

Feasibility

Considering the study is a pilot, the sample size I chose is relatively small. This defined sample size is more manageable in terms of logistics, data collection, and analysis. The limited size can focus my efforts, time and resources effectively.

Ethical Considerations

Conducting the survey in my own school allows me to navigate ethical considerations more easily. My teachers and school principal are familiar with me. I can take their help is framing the survey questions. I am also familiar with the environment and can ensure participants’ comfort and confidentiality.

Peer Influence

I thought students may feel more comfortable discussing health topics with their peers, and their responses may be more honest and reflective of their true awareness levels.

Accessibility

Conducting the survey within my school would allow me easier access to participants. I could potentially reach a larger number of students quickly and efficiently, facilitating efficient data collection.

Capturing Community Insight

The results, I supposed, could provide valuable insights into the specific attitudes and knowledge levels about cancer within my school community. This may or may not differ from broader populations.

Engagement

Engaging with my classmates in discussions about cancer awareness could foster a sense of community and responsibility. It can encourage peer-to-peer education and support.

Personal Motivation

As a student, my peers may have a personal connection to the issue, whether through family, friends, or your own experiences, making the research more meaningful, robust and impactful.

Statistical Significance

The study is designed depending on the size of my high school. A well-chosen sample can yield statistically significant results that can be analyzed and interpreted effectively. If time and means permit it can be expanded

Targeted Interventions

The findings can help identify specific areas where awareness is lacking. This gap could allow for targeted educational interventions or programs within my school.
